Google has finally enabled the Wireless Support for Android Auto. This was the much awaited feature for the users of Android Auto which is now officially rolled out by Google. Google has officially announced the Wireless Support for Android Auto for the Google Phones. This new feature lets your phone to connect to your Android Auto without the wired connection. It uses WiFi connection for the same so you can make use of it without wire.
So in future to make use of Google Auto in your car, you don’t have to have a USB data cable or any other wire for the same. You would be able to explore the entire Google Auto and its features Wirelessly.
The new Wireless support feature is not available for all the Android devices as of the time. Google has released the support only for their own Google based smartphones. Currently, this feature is available for the Google devices such as Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P. All these devices must be running on a latest, Android Oreo operating system. This is the basic software requirement to make use of this new feature on your car.
Furthermore, the new Wireless support is compatible with third-party JVC and Kenwood head units. In the coming days, Google to add more compatibility to use the same function at wider space.
As per Google’s official blogpost regarding the availability of this new features, “For non-Google devices, we are actively working with phone manufacturers on adding software compatibility and hope to share more updates soon.”

This new Wireless functionality on Google Auto is currently available in North America that to for Google-based smartphones.
