WhatsApp Beta adds Hands-free Voice Recording

World’s most popular Instant Messaging cum communication app, WhatsApp is rolling out a new Beta update for the Android users with the much awaited feature of recording voice notes hands-free. Yes, you heard that right. With the new Beta update, users can now record audio clip without pressing and holding down the mic button in the chat section. 

This new feature is also called as Locked Audio Recordings feature. Until now, this was the most talked feature and millions of users around the world have been waiting for such feature to hit the app so that they can freely record a new voice note.

If we talk about the current scenario, users have to press and hold the mic button until the recording finishes. But with this new Beta update, you don’t have to press and hold the mic button for longer time, just press the mic button and swipe up. The latest beta update brings the app version to 2.18.102. Once you select the mic button, WhatsApp will show you the Lock button which requires you to swipe on to it. To enable this Lock Microphone Button, you just need to swipe up on to the button and you will be proceed to record your voice clip without holding down the mic button.

In the future, WhatsApp will let you listen to your audio clip before sending it out to the users. Yes, you will soon receive a new WhatsApp update which will make you able to listen to your voice clip before sending it out to the recipient.

Furthermore, some sources also suggest that the future WhatsApp update will also add a couple of additional feature for the users who are engaging with different types of stickers. Users will be able to see the size of the stickers before downloading them for their personal use.

Interestingly, the beta update of WhatsApp with the new Lock Audio Button feature is made available for Android users only. The iOS users will soon get an update of the app, however there is no any specific dates of the availability of this update for iOS platform is revealed.
