Viacom is planning to launch their own Streaming Service by the end of this current year. The company, on its earning calls on Thursday announced that their new Streaming Service will be coming this year. According to the officials, Viacom’s new Streaming Service will come with add-support so advertisers can spend money to advertise their products on this platform. The service will make live in the September month, 2018.
Viacom’s new Streaming Service will have “tens of thousands of hours of content” for lifetime entertainment. As we all know that, Viacom has their own huge library of different types of contents, they will add more fresh contents with the existing ones to their own new Streaming Service.
Viacom is a well know name in the Entertainment industry as the company owns a popular TV Channels such as MTV and Comedy Central. The company is also licensing their contents to other TV Channels as well.
“It’s going to be rolled out in the U.S., in terms of the amount of content that it’s going to have, it’s going to have tens of thousands of hours of content that cut across the library we have on a global basis. And it’s important to note one of the reasons that we are able to do this is that we’ve chosen to curtail the amount of content that we license into third-party B2C experiences,” said Viacom CFO Wade Davis, on the call. Well, the company didn’t explain anything further about what this new Streaming Service will include and what it has got to offer to the users and subscribers. However, we could expect a huge collection of entertainment within this service in the coming days. The company may even spend more money on producing new fresh contents which will stream out on the channels of its service in the future.
