How to Setup a VPN in Windows 10

Microsoft’s latest Windows edition is Windows 10 which has a whole new user interface. If you have just upgraded your System with Windows 10 and want to use a VPN service on it, we would guide you on the same with proper steps. The process requires a few things before actually setting up a VPN service. No matter whether you are a newbie or a professional user, following guidelines will help you out to setup a VPN in Windows 10 PC. 

First of all, make sure you have a proper Credentials of a VPN server to set it up to your Windows 10 system. Credentials will give you access to a server of a VPN provider so you need to buy a VPN service first. There are plenty of options available for you if you are looking for a VPN service to purchase. Additionally, you have to coordinate with your system administrator or you can turn on your PC with Administrator access. Furthermore, a proper Windows 10 PC should be there on which we are going to perform this entire process.

Once you are confirmed with all the above things, you are good to go with the process to setup a VPN in Windows 10 PC. Let’s get on to the step by step tutorial which is given below.

How to setup VPN in Windows 10

Step 1 :



Make sure to start your Windows 10 system with Administrator access.

Step 2 :

From the desktop, click on to the Start button which is there at the bottom left corner.



Step 3 :



Once you click the Start button, a menu will be presented to you. From here, you need to click on to the Settings option under the Places section.

Step 4 :

You would see a few other options from which you need to select, Network & Internet icon.

Step 5 :

After this, you would see a few options at the left sidebar of your Window. Select VPN option from here.

Step 6 :

From the right sidebar, click on to the + icon to add a VPN connection.

Step 7 :

Once you select the + icon, a field box will be presented to you. Make sure to put the right values to the fields available here.

Step 8 :

Once you put the right information of a required VPN connection, hit the Save button given at the end of the page.

Note : In the box, you would see remember Sign In info option. If you are using a person computer, then make sure to check this box, otherwise ignore this option if you are using a Public computers in libraries or Internet cafes.

Step 9 : 

After this, go back to Network & Internet page and select VPN category from the left panel. You would see recently created VPN address here. Click on to the Connect button from the created VPN connection.

Step 10 :

Make sure to enter a valid login credentials of your VPN service to make a proper connection.

Additionally, if you want to make any changes to the created VPN connection, you need to click on to the Properties button. From here, you can easily make various changes to your connection as per your requirements.

After this, you don’t have to go to the Network & Internet section again and again to connect to a VPN service. Just make sure to visit the system tray’s icon and select the VPN option where you can see the newly created VPN account. Click on to the option and you will be able to connect to this network instantly. Put the right details before making the connection.
