Samsung gets permit to test self-driving cars in California

Self-driving cars is the new technology venture that many companies are currently working on. Ahead of this, South Korean giant, Samsung gets permit from California for their own self-driving cars on the roads of California. There are total 39 companies testing their own Self-driving cars on the road of California so we could see a great competition in this arena as well.

In order to start this venture, the company has to take permission from the government and Samsung gets it already. This will definitely improve the entire transportation with new technology. Till now, we have some automatic vehicles with builtin GPS system, but now we have our own self-driving vehicles means we no longer need drivers to drive our cars.

California’s Department of Motor Vehicles has granted the application of Samsung and permitted to test out their own self-driving cars in California. So, the company is now covering the areas of Apple and Google in this field as well. Since the competition in every field is going hand to hand, we may have seen plenty of such innovations in the coming time from the giants like Samsung and other ones.

According to a DOV spokesperson, Samsung will be testing three to four cars for the Self-Driving ventures. Toyota Prius and two Audi A3s are there to test out by Samsung initially. The number of cars will gradually increase after successful testing of these cars for the security of other people.

Samsung had received the same self-driving car permission from their own home country, South Korea. The company is testing out their self-driving cars with the software which was adopted by Hyundai. Samsung may test out the same software in California, however there is no any confirmation on this yet.

The company had confirmed that they will not manufacturer any cars or any other vehicles, however they will come up with their own technology to test out self-driving cars.

Including Samsung, there are 40 other companies who are testing out self-driving cars in California and got the permission from the DOV of California. The list of the companies are as follows :
