The South Korean giant, Samsung is yet to release the official Android 8.0 Oreo update for the latest flagship phones, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note8 as well. Today, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge accidentally got Android 8.0 Oreo update in Vietnam. Yes, this is the first Samsung device which got this Oreo update ahead of other high-end premium devices.
Samsung has released total fourth Android 8.0 Oreo beta updates for the Galaxy S8 duos. However, the official stable update is not released yet. The giant is working on their new Experience 9 skin which is redesigned for the Oreo updates. This new Experience 9 with Android 8.0 Oreo update will bring a bunch of new features to your smartphone. So the company claims that the Oreo update will worth your wait.
One lucky user of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone in Vietnam accidentally received a new firmware update with version number G935FXXU2ERB2 which updates the device to the latest, Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Yes, the new firmware which he got is accidentally released by the giant. Interestingly, the update also bring the Experience 9 skin on the device. Many tech giants have confirmed the update is a real OTA update of Android Oreo operating system.
Many people find this impossible as Samsung has claimed to update the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphone with the new Oreo update first and then they will roll out the update for other devices in the coming days. Galaxy Note 8 is also yet to receive this update.
Indeed, this is by mistake and Samsung has not confirmed anything yet. The update may be accidentally pushed for the device by the Samsung Vietnam. Only one user claims to have this update on his device so this could be the dev version of Oreo update for the Vietnam regions which got accidentally released for the user of Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone.
We are not sure how other people or the users of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone able to download and install this update. However, the above listed screenshots clear all the doubts of the users who are still not believing. The new Android 8.0 Oreo update weighs 1.4GB in Size for the Galaxy S7 Edge International variant with dual-SIM and comes with the above mentioned Firmware version.
Samsung was indeed working on the Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 series smartphones but nobody has ever expected this device to get the Android Oreo update first. Well, this is not the first time a user has received the Oreo update. A few weeks ago, a Galaxy Note 8 user also got the same Android 8.0 Oreo update.
This could be the Samsung’s strategy to release the update as a dev version for a few users only. This could be the sign of the official Android 8.0 Oreo update’s roll out for the devices. We don’t know what Samsung is planning for the software update for the existing high-end Android smartphones.
Currently, Samsung is preparing for the launch of its upcoming premium flagship phones, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The giant is going to unveil these phones in the upcoming Mobile World Congress on February 25th. We have seen a few live images of the device in Lilac Purple and Coral Blue colors in the previous leaks.
Sadly, there is no any specific information about the official stable Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Samsung devices yet. However, we can expect the update to roll out before the MWC 2018 this month at least for the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones.
