Samsung has finally released a new edition to its personal voice assistant service, Bixby with Bixby 2.0. Samsung had released Bixby 1.0 six months ago and they have finally come up with an update i.e. Bixby 2.0. Samsung had announced its Bixby Assistant along with its Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone and soon the giant has made available this assistant to the entire globe. The company is currently looking for a way to expand its service to non-Samsung devices as well.
This new Bixby 2.0 Voice Assistant will come to the Samsung phones initially. Interestingly, this new edition will be able to integrate with your other home appliances such as refrigerators, smart TVs and other appliances. SmartThings and ARTIK will give you better user interface since they are also Samsung products or we can services. The Bixby 2.0 will offer more familiar user interface to Samsung based services and devices.
Additionally, the giant has also announced a private beta program for Bixby 2.0 SDK. With this new service, third party developers will also be able to integrate their own other services to this assistant. Samsung will offer a whole new environment where even third party can also integrate with this Bixby 2.0 Assistant.
Samsung’s Annual Developer Conference brings a variety of devices and software updates. The giant has also announced a new 360 Round VR Camera to bring the best of Virtual Reality experience right from your device. Samsung is claiming that the new Bixby 2.0 will be capable enough to recognise more languages and users needs accurately.
Since other voice assistant such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are open for developers to test out other services through the assistant, Samsung has decided to bring the same Bixby 2.0 SDK for developers, as mentioned earlier. The new Bixby 2.0 will bring more third party app support so you can make use of this Voice Assistant to various third party applications in future. The same Voice Assistant will be available for non-Samsung devices as well as the company is in talks with other Smartphone manufacturers.
Apart from this, Samsung is also planning to launch this Bixby Voice Assistant for Samsung Smart Television in the United States and Korean markets. Over the past months, Samsung has added over 200 more languages to the Bixby Voice Assistant along with more Android devices. Since, Samsung carries the most number of Android based smartphones, we could expect the same Bixby Voice assistant to come as a default Voice assistant in the coming Android devices.
While launching the Bixby Assistant on the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone, Samsung has put a dedicated button to launch the Bixby voice assistant. However, many of the users have found this button unnecessary as there is no any use of this button. For the very same reason, the giant has pushed an update to turn off this Bixby assistant from the Samsung devices.
Well, Samsung has just released this new Bixby 2.0 Voice Assistant in the market. So we are yet to decide whether this will bring more functionality to the Android devices. But one thing is sure about this service is, you will be able to explore more of this new updated version of the Bixby 2.0 Voice Assistant in the near future. There will be more developers joining in with this Bixby 2.0 SDK to bring more powerful third party apps which come with the support of Bixby Voice Assistant.
