Huawei has recently started rolling out the new Android Oreo update for the Huawei Watch 2 smartwatch. Many of the users have already updated their Huawei Watch 2 with the latest Oreo update. If you have not yet upgraded your Huawei Watch 2 with this update, wait for some more days. A user on Reddit has shared that the Oreo update disables the Android Pay feature outside the UK and US.

After updating the Huawei Watch 2 smartphone with the latest Android Oreo update, the Android Pay stopped working outside the US and UK. However, it works perfectly fine in other countries such as Australia and Canada. Many users have reported that the Android Pay is not working outside the mentioned countries.

In respond to this query, Google has officially said that the Android Pay service has not launched for other countries so it will not work outside the US and UK. The Android Pay service will work only for the countries where this service is officially available and launched by the giant.

Google has launched this Android Pay service in 15 different countries along with the US and UK. It is also available in Canada and Australia, so obviously it will work in these countries including the UK and United States.

If we talk about the previous update, the same service of Android Pay was working perfectly fine on the devices outside these countries on the devices running on Android 7.1 Nougat Operating System.

However, you have to keep in mind that Android Oreo update for Smartphones and Wearables are completely different. The availability of different Google services is also different for the smartphones and wearables and for that reason, this Android Pay app stopped working in different countries around the world.

If we talk about a temporary fix for this update, users who have already upgraded their Huawei Watch 2 with the latest Android Oreo update have to visit the Android Pay app on the Play Store app. You have to search for the Android Pay app on the Play Store first. From there, they have to manually enable this service to start it working for their Huawei Watch 2. This is just a temporary fix and it will stop working after sometime. So you can enable this service like this whenever needed. Each time you want to purchase something, try to enable this service manually.

Google has not said anything more about this update as this is the Android Pay service is currently available for limited markets and not for the global markets. This is the only reason why it is not working outside the United States and UK.
