HMD Global has finally announced the much awaited, Nokia 6’s next generation i.e. Nokia 6 (2018) in the market. The phone is no longer an entry level smartphone as the company has pushed a set of advanced features to this new generation device with added functionality.
As far as the specifications of this phone are concerned, the new Nokia 6 (2018) shares most of its hardware of the original Nokia 6 smartphone. So there will be no more changes on the hardware side of the device, however there are a number of improvements available to the phone’s software side which are enlisted below.
The new generation Nokia 6 smartphone i.e. Nokia 6 (2018) sports a 5.5 Inch IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The device’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone comes with fullHD resolution for rich user interface. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 630 with 2.2GHz Octa-Core CPU. It has a 4GB of RAM which holds multitasking very well.
Furthermore, the new Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone runs on an Android 7.1 Nougat Operating System. The company claims that a quick update is on the way which will update this device to the latest, Android 8.0 Oreo Operating System, however it will take some time to hit the real market. Of course, the new Oreo update on the phone will offer significant changes to the device’s actual performance and we could see it more clearly once the device is upgraded to this latest Oreo update.
On the camera front, the Nokia 6 (2018) features the same camera like the original Nokia 6 phone which start receiving the Oreo update recently. It features a 16 Megapixel of rear camera as Primary Camera at the back panel. The phone also features an 8 Megapixel of Selfie Shooter camera located at the front panel as a Secondary Camera on the device. The rear camera on the phone features Dual-Sight mode which is also known as bothie mode.
The device has now USB Type-C port for charging the device. It has a 3,000 mAh of battery capacity which is a non-removable battery.
The phone comes with two different variants, 32GB and 64GB storage options. Fortunately, it comes with an expansion option as well. You can expand the phone’s memory by using a microSD card using a slot. The phone also features a traditional, 3.5mm AudioJack port along with a single speaker on board.
Interestingly, the company has relocated the Nokia 6 (2018)’s Fingerprint Scanner. The device has a rear-mounted Fingerprint Scanner which is located at the back panel of the device underneath the camera setup.
The device features almost all types of connectivity options to connect the device to the Internet and to the other devices. Nokia 6 (2018) has LTE Cat 4 radio and comes with a dual SIM ports to use multiple SIM cards at the same time. There is no any dedicated microSD card slot available on the device, however you can expand the phone’s memory by using the second SIM card’s slot.
Moving on to the pricing, the new Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone is up for pre-order. The phone comes with two different color options, Black and Silver colors. Since the device has two different versions, a 32GB Storage version is available at CNY1,499. The 64GB Storage version of the device will cost you CNY1,699. The actual sales of this phone will begin from January 10 in China.
Sadly, there is no any specific release date of this new Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone revealed by the giant for other markets yet. We could expect this phone to come in other markets in the coming days.
