List of OEMs to deliver 5G Smartphones by 2019

Qualcomm has officially announced their future plans to come up with 5G Connectivity on the future smartphones. Yes, 5G Networks are already in testing environment and we would soon get to see the 5G network based smartphones which would offer super faster Internet connectivity to your smartphones. 4G networks are globally available and now the giants are preparing for the 5G enabled smartphones for future. 

In addition, Qualcomm has officially announced that they will provide Snapdragon X50 modems to the smartphones giants. The company has listed down over 18 OEMs of the smartphones industry who will acquire these modems so that they can produce the new smartphones running on 5G networks.

All the major OEMs such as Asus, Fujitsu, HMD Global, HTC, LG, Oppo, Sharp, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE will be able to get the Snapdragon X50 models from Qualcomm in the future.

If we move on to the manufacturers, all the giants are aiming towards 2019 as most of them have already designed their new smartphones for this current year 2018. The mass production of the new smartphones have begun already by the giants around the world. In such situation, they can not change their current track to test out and start designing the new 5G smartphones. This will not be a good move and hence, most of the OEMs will start using this modems by 2019 in the upcoming smartphones.

Samsung has also extended the partnership with Qualcomm. The multi-year partnership suggest that the South Korean giant will use the Qualcomm’s Chips in most of their future smartphones. Samsung will use their own Exynos Chips in a selected markets only. So there will be a bunch of Qualcomm powered Samsung devices we would see in the coming future. We have found out pretty much all the giants in the list except Apple. Apple may design their own 5G powered chips in future, we never know what the giant has planned out for future.

The company has also held a separate press event where they have encouraged all the other network providers of the world such as AT&T, China Mobile, Orange, SK Telecom, Verizon, Vodafone to come up and test out the 5G networks on their channels so they too can offer the 5G connections to the future smartphones and consumers.

As we all know, most of the giants will be present at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2018 at Barcelona, Spain with their future smartphones. Qualcomm to hold a demonstration event where they will showcase the power of Snapdragon X50 Modems to handle the 5G networks. This would be much interesting event and people would love to see how this modem will work in real life.

According to sources, 5G networks would be a revolutionary movement and will transfer a few gigabits of data per second. Yes, there will be gigabits transfers within a single second through 5G network which Qualcomm will showcase very soon during the MWC.

5G networks will also support other technology such as AI, AR and many more within the future smartphones. So the technology world is cooking something really great for all of us and we would get to see everything live very soon. The devices will start appearing from 2019, i.e. from next year.
