Social Media have becoming a part of every individual’s life and most of the smartphone users are now using different types of social medias to stay connected with their loved ones. When it comes to social media, Instagram and Snapchat comes as the best Photosharing social media platforms with millions of daily users. Today, both the giants have removed Giphy Integration from their platforms.

A few weeks back, Instagram and Snapchat have added the Giphy Integration to make the use of the media or we can say the platform more interesting with the use of different types of stickers. Yes, Giphy Integration allows the users of these platforms to make use of a variety of stickers from different categories. However, the giants have to remove the Giphy Integration for temporary period of time.

The main reason behind removing the Giphy Integration from the platform is an extremely racist GIF. Yes, the platform offers a variety of irrelevant GIFs while a user search for a new one.

In order to removing the Integration from the platforms, both the giants have confirmed to TechCrunch regarding the issues.

Instagram stated that, “This type of content has no place on Instagram. We have stopped our integration with GIPHY as they investigate the issue.”

On the other hand, as per Snapchat’s statement, “As soon as we were made aware, we removed the GIF and have disabled GIPHY until we can be sure that this won’t happen again.”

However, there is no any statement released by GIPHY regarding this issue. We can expect from the main line to come up with some statement regarding the issue and the availability of different types of stickers which are irrelevant to all the users of the platform. They should not be there for sharing purposes at least.

As per the reports, both the giants, Snapchat and Instagram have removed the Giphy Integration for temporary period of time. However, we are not aware about the specific time and we don’t know how long GIPHY will be absent from these platforms as well. Giphy will have to answer all the questions of the users as the integration have been officially acquired by the platforms.

Most of the Giphy’s Stickers were “rated PG” which means they are there for the 13-and-up teens. So technically these people are allowed to use the platform. Some of the GIFs inlcude a racial slur which are also disturbing as hell for many who come across to them and for that reason. Many users of these platforms have reported regarding the same stickers and for that reason, both the platforms have removed the integration completely from their platforms.
