Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro announced : Features & Specifications


Huawei has officially announced the much awaited high end smartphones, Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro in the technology market at an event held in Munich yesterday. Since Apple has recently announced its new machines called iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, Huawei aims to compete against these beasts by introducing the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro smartphones. 

The phones are packed with almost everything that you might be desiring in a new smartphones. The phones carry almost all the features of the high end iPhones at a cheaper price tags. Apart from these new Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro smartphone, the company has also introduced a new Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design edition by partnering with Porsche. The new Mate 10 Porsche Design does offer kind of the same features and specs like the original Mate 10 Pro smartphone, the only difference is their designs.

The new Huawei Mate 10 sports a 5.9 Inch QHD LCD display with 1440×2560 pixels of screen resolution while the Mate 10 Pro has slightly bigger display with 6.0 Inch. The Mate 10 Pro has Full HD OLED display with 1080×2160 pixels of screen resolution. These displays are called FullView display just like the new iPhones. If we compare these phones to its predecessors, both the devices look smaller than the original Mate 9 smartphones as these new phones have bezel-less display.

Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro are powered by HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC which is Huawei’s very own chipset. The company claims that this is the first chipset which has NPU i.e. neural-network processor unit. The company is also claiming that this processor is the best one in the market till date beating Apple’s new A11 Bionic Chipset. This new Kirin 970 Chipset offers a variety of features of Artificial Intelligence. It will help you out in many tasks so you can make the most of the device’s features through this Processor.

Both the phones, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro has powerful 4,000 mAh of battery. The phones has slimmer design even if they boast a 4,000 mAh of battery which is a good thing and it makes the devices more handy.

The Huawei Mate 10 offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage memory. You can expand the memory of the device upto 256GB by using a microSD card. It has only one variant, while the Huawei Mate 10 Pro has two different variants. Huawei Mate 10 Pro offers 4GB and 6GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB of Internal Storage memory respectively. There is no any expansion option available in the market. So you can choose from two different choices if you are looking for the Mate 10 Pro smartphone to buy in future.

The Huawei Mate 10 has a dual rear cameras of 20 Megapixel monochrome sensor and 12 Megapixel RGB sensor. Other features including OIS, BSI CMOS, PDAF, CAF, Laser Autofocus along with depth focus is also present in the cameras. There is a dual LED flash also studded besides the cameras. On the front, the phone features an 8 Megapixel of camera with which you can take perfect selfies and can make full HD video calls. The Mate 10 Pro carry the same cameras on both the sides and there is no any differences between the cameras.

Furthermore, the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 smartphones also feature a Fingerprint Scanner. This feature is not available on the newly launched iPhones by Apple. However, Huawei offers Fingerprint Scanner at the back panel of both the devices below the dual camera setup as you can see in the image.

If we talk about the Operating System, Huawei’s new Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro run on a latest Android 8.0 Oreo Operating System with EMUI 8.0. The phones offer dual SIM functionality to run multiple SIM cards at the same time. The Huawei Mate 10 has a 3.5 mm AudioJack while the Huawei Mate 10 Pro doesn’t have any AudioJack available.

Apart from these two smartphones, the company has also introduced the special edition of the phone called Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design. This is a special variant of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro smartphone carrying the same set of features of the Mate 10 Pro smartphone. The phone comes with Diamond Black color and it has 6GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage memory which makes the device different from other two smartphones.

If we talk about the pricing of these phones, the Huawei Mate 10 smartphone is priced at EUR 699. The phone will go on sale from November month in several markets including Australia, China, Egypt, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, and the UAE. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is priced at EUR 799. The phone will go on sale from the November month in above listed markets. The Porsche edition i.e. Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design is priced at EUR 1,395 and it will also has the same launch criteria listed above for Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones.
