Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 receives EMUI 8.0 update in France


Honor has officially announced that the latest Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI 8.0 update is rolling out to popular Honor smartphones. Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 smartphones started receiving the new EMUI 8.0 update in France. Today, official Twitter handle of Honor in France has released this information via Tweet. 

It’s quite surprising that the new Oreo based EMIUI 8.0 update is available for the older devices as well. Previously there were reports which claim that some of the Honor devices might not get the EMUI 8.0 Oreo update due to software and hardware limitations. However, Honor has officially cleared the air on the phones which are receiving the EMUI 8.0 update.

According to official Tweet made by Honor France, the new EMUI 8.0 update started rolling out for Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 smartphone from today itself. You can view the official Tweet made by Honor France from the embedded Tweet below.

Honor 8 and Honor 7X smartphones will also get the same EMUI 8.0 update in the Second Quarter of the current year as you can see in the released list of the device to get this update by Honor France.

The new EMUI 8.0 is company’s own custom ROM which is designed to run on the latest Android Nougat and Android Oreo operating systems. This update will bring an improved system capabilities with new battery enhancement features to the device. The new update will also bring some Artificial Intelligence related features to the device as the devices are powered by company’s own Kirin 970 Chipset.

The dedicated Neural Processing Unit on the Kirin 970 Chipset will bring a lot of additional features to the device such as automatic photo scene detection, auto UI optimisation and much more. The AI powered Kirin 970 Chipset will boost the functionality of your device and you will feel more powerful once you upgrade your device to the latest EMUI 8.0 update.

Due to software and hardware limitations, the Honor 8 smartphone will not get the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system but still, it will get an EMUI 8.0 update on the device. The custom ROM for the Honor 8 smartphone will offer a variety of new features to the device. So the device will stay running on the original Nougat Operating System only. Honor will soon come up with clarification regarding the Oreo update for Honor 8 smartphone in the coming days.

Recently, Honor has launched its mid-range, Honor 9 Lite smartphone in the European countries with quad-cameras. The smartphone is one of the best selling mid-range Android devices in the world. Apart from this, a mysterious Honor device also spotted on a Chinese benchmarking website, TENNA. The company has also released the Red variant of the Honor 7X smartphone.
