HMD Global promises an ‘Awesome’ Nokia product at MWC 2018

The new year has started with a big knock as we have seen plenty of advanced and innovative tech gadgets in the Consumer Electronics Show i.e. CES 2018. Now, everyone is eyeing on one more major event, Mobile World Congress. The MWC 2018 is held in Barcelona, Spain which is kickstart from the next month.

In Mobile World Congress, all the smartphone giants around the world take part to showcase their future phones. The MWC is quite popular in the world and all the tech enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to witness the best of technology gadgets through this event.

This year’s CES was all about the smart displays, smart home appliances and big Televisions. In Mobile World Congress we can expect to see a bunch of innovative mobile phones. We can expect many announcements by different giants in this event.

HMD Global has become one of the most popular smartphones manufacturers in the world. The company has released plenty of smartphones with different price tags for all types of consumers around the world. Today, the CPO of HMD Global has made a statement that there will be an Awesome product in the MWC 2018 by the company.

Juho Sarvikas, company’s Chief product officer has teased the consumers by sharing a tweet on a popular microblogging site, Twitter. Juho Sarvikas is quite popular on Twitter as he shares regular updates regarding the phones and the software updates on a regular basis. Ahead of the official Mobile World Congress event, he has teased us all with one word, Awesome.

Juho has just shared that there will be an awesome announcement by the company during the MWC 2018. However, he doesn’t revealed anything about the phone or its name as of now.

Since we have been receiving regular leaks and rumors about company’s upcoming premium smartphone, we could expect it to be the new Nokia 9 smartphone by the giant. Yes, the successor of last year’s premium smartphone Nokia 8, could be announced by the company.

Apart from this, there have been rumors that the company might also announce the special Android Oreo’s Go edition for the Nokia 1 based smartphones. Additionally, the company might launch the new Nokia 4, Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 (2018) edition as well. Some other reports suggest that, HMD Global may also announce 4G LTE-enabled model of the Nokia 3310 which would be a new feature phone from the giant.

If we talk about the last year’s Mobile World Congress, the company had unveiled total four smartphones, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 with a whole new redesigned Nokia 3310 smartphone runs on 2G network.

Being company’s premium smartphone, the Nokia 9 smartphone has been receiving plenty of leaks on a regular basis. The phone has recently cleared the FCC in the United States. All the requirements to launch a new device have been done by the company already so we can assume that the giant will definitely unveil the new Nokia 9 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in the February month.

Apart from this, the company may also redesign the existing smartphones and come up with new 2018 editions of its Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones. However, there is no any confirmation regarding these phones by any sources or by the officials. The other smartphones from Nokia just launched recently so we might not see an upgraded edition of them in the meantime.



A few weeks ago, the Nokia 9 smartphone was spotted on a benchmarking site, GFXBench revealing a list of its features. New rumors also suggest that there will be a dual cameras at the front panel on the new Nokia 9 smartphone with 5 Megapixel. So we hope to see the device to boast total four cameras.
