Google Pixel 2 will turn on Do Not Disturb Mode while driving

Google has finally unveiled the much awaited and the second generation of its Pixel series smartphones, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in the market. The phones are now available for preorders and will be shipped from the coming October 19th. The new Google Pixel 2 brings a variety of new features to explore more of the technology world. Recently, a report suggest that the new Google Pixel 2 will turn on Do Not Disturb Mode automatically while a user is driving a car.

In order to keep your safe and secured, Google’s new Pixel devices will automatically put your device into the Do Not Disturb mode so you will not be interrupted with calls and messages and other notifications while driving a car. This way you can keep your phone away and you will reach to your destination safely.

There is an option available on the phone. Once you enable this option, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones will enable the Do Not Disturb mode automatically while you drive a car.

In order to make this work, Google has released a new app called, Pixel Ambient Services. AndroidPolice spotted a screenshot about this app and its functionality on the new Pixel phone. This app features automatic settings of Do Not Disturb mode while driving a car. You too can take a look on to the screenshot attached below.

You have to install this app to your new Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL smartphone. After this, you have to enable this feature once it is launched on the device. That’s all you have to do in order to setup the app to enable this feature. After this, the app will itself sense that you are driving while you actually driving and put your device into Do Not Disturb mode.

Google says, the app will work with Bluetooth and device motion to determine the speed and other basic information. However, the app or this feature will not tell you whether you are driving a car or sitting in a car as a passenger.

The new Pixel Ambient Services app seems to be exclusively available for the newly launched Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL smartphones as of now. Google has not confirmed anything whether this app will work on other Android based smartphones as well. However, Apple and Samsung’s feature is more advance which send texts messages automatically while you receive a notification to your phone while driving.

We all know that the new high end devices are coming up with dual cameras at both the sides, however Google has not brought the dual camera concept on these smartphones. But the giant will definitely offer these kind of new services to make your life more advance and smart.
