What to expect from Google I/O 2018?


Google’s Annual Developers Conference, Google I/O 2018 will be held from May 8 to May 10 as declared by Google a few weeks ago through a Puzzle. The dates of Google’s this year’s conference is coming closer and people have started expecting different things from the giant. Google always brings out something innovative through their Annual Conferences and this new Google I/O 2018 will also bring a set of new products for the consumers. 

Google aims high at providing the best of services to its millions of consumers around the globe. Google’s own mobile platform, Android becomes world’s most popular mobile platform. Today, we will let you know the products and other announcements which could be announced by the giant in this year’s Google I/O 2018. Let’s get on to the list of products from Google for this year.

What to expect from Google I/O 2018?

1. Android P 

Google has recently released their new Android P’s First Developer Preview for the Pixel devices. Yes, the next Android edition would be called Android P, the name of this Operating System is still not specified by the giant. Last year, Google had not declared the name of Android Oreo and until its announcement it was known as Android O. Google will announce the name of this next Android Operating System at the launch time.

The giant will release the public beta of the new Android P operating system on the May 8th at Google I/O 2018. We will let you update with everything about this conference.

2. Google Home

Google Home is Google’s own smart speaker which comes with a set of advanced features. The Google Home has built-in voice assistant, Google Assistant. Last year, Google has updated their Google Home smart speakers with new features and new editions.

Google has also launched new Google Home Mini and Google Home Max smart speakers previously. The new updated Google Home brings features such as proactive assistance, push notifications, hands-free callings, Spotify, SoundCloud and other supports. We hope from the giant to update their Smart Speaker lineup with new features. They could also introduce a couple of new editions of their Google Home lineup.

3. Google Photos

Google has constantly been changing their popular services. Recently, Google has updated their Google Photos app with a set of new features. Google has added Google Lens, Shared Libraries, Photo Books etc to the Google Photos app recently. The giant could relaunch the Google Photos app with even more features for this year.

4. Google Assistant

Just like the Google Photos app, Google Assistant is also constantly changing with new features and support for new products. The giant aims to provide their voice assistant services to more devices in the future. Google has started offering their Google Assistant service to non-Google products as well. The same assistant has made available to Android based Tablets as well.

In this year’s Google I/O, Google may introduce a few other additional features with new UI of their popular Google Assistant. The giant may also introduce more tie ups to various brands within the country. Google Assistant will be expanded to more home appliances to make a smart home.

5. VR and AR

As the technology and inventions are increasing, the giant to come up with new generation of VR and AR. The giant had announced their very first Daydream View platform in the year 2018 at I/O, last year the giant has introduced a compatible platform to make use of it.

The giant has also their own Daydream View Headset which was announced at last year’s CES. People liked the headset however since the VR and AR technologies are not that popular, we hope to see some improved features or a whole new headset from the giant in this year’s I/O 2018.

Apart from this, Google may also introduce some more features for the YouTubers as well. The giant may introduce more innovative platforms for the people who make use of YouTube and its related items. The giant may also update their different services such as Gmail, YouTube, Drive and many other popular services with more abilities.
