What is Equifax?
Equifax is a one of the largest American credit agencies. The company gathers information about you without your permission and knowledge from banks, credit card companies and other sources.
How do you know if you are a part of Equifax’s data breach?
In order to check if your account details and other private information including credit card, the company has launched its own personal website through which you can get to know whether you have become the part of this data breach or not.
This is not a simple way to check if your information was hacked, as you have to put some more private information to Equifax’s website in order to know about the status of your private information.
The process is pretty simple in which the website which was launched by Equifax will ask for your last name and last six digits of your Social Security number. After entering this information to the website, you have to hit the submit button at last. After a few minutes, you will receive a message on your cellphone number about the statement and the status of your data.
Many of the hackers and online thieves has started gaining benefits from this data breach by Equifax and many of them have started plenty of websites to spy and to steal data of new consumers. The company has listed down such websites. They have even shared a list of such website via Twitter. You can find out more about this from the below Tweet.

The company is providing free security for this for one year which is a good thing. The company is providing security for many services which consumers are using on a daily basis.
What’s there for future?
There’s no any clear way to protect your information in future. However, you have to put blind trust upon the companies like Equifax where you can put your private details and accept all the terms and conditions to bring the security of your personal data at first place.
If you find yourself attacked by the hackers through this data breach, you have to make quick move. First, you have to file a complaint against this data breach to protect your information. Make a complaint with FTC first. Since your data has been hacked by the hackers, you have to make some quick moves to protect the details or to change the passwords and other things of yours, otherwise the hackers can damage more and it will cost more money to recover score and other things through credit agencies.
