Darkwood Developers makes the game available on Pirate Bay

Most of the independent developers prefer that the gamers don’t pirate the titles. The developers of Wizard studio who has developed the Darkwrood has taken things differently. A group of three, they have released their horror game as a torrent on the well-known torrent site, known as the Pirate Bay to everyone’s amusement without any kind of DRM. You would be amused to know the reason. They just did not want people to stop playing the game as they couldn’t afford it.

Released a week before, the game has been receiving many positive reviews. The Darkwood has been priced at just $15 on prominent platforms like the Humble Store, the GOG, and the Steam. The Acid Wizard group has explained that placing the game on Pirate Bay wasn’t exactly their intention but they were motivated to put it on the torrent sites because of two reasons: to make it available for all the people and second to fight against the shady resellers who play with people for the key.

“There’s no catch, no added pirate hats for characters or anything like that. We have just one request: if you like Darkwood and want us to continue making games, consider buying it in the future, maybe on a sale, through Steam, GOG or Humble Store.”

“But please, please, don’t buy it through any key reselling site. By doing that, you’re just feeding the cancer that is leeching off this industry.”

The trio has written that in their Imgur post that they got frustrated with people requesting the keys to review the Darkwood so that they can sell the steam keys on the unauthorized platform. Many players, on the other hand, were also asking the refund after playing it for a while, because they couldn’t afford it.
