Facebook at Work launches a devoted chat app on Android



Facebook has launched a dedicated messaging app named Work Chat on Android platform for the organizations that use its Facebook at Work service. This new messaging service is a part of company’s Facebook at Work service that allows you to interact with your colleagues in the office.

This Facebook at Work and Work Chat service looks similar to Facebook and Messenger apps, except that it is restricted within your company. Users can chat directly or in groups with your co-workers via this feature. They can also send pictures and videos through this chat feature anywhere without any extra costs.

The basic requirement for this Work chat service is a Facebook at Work accounts. This means that your company should have signed up for Facebook at Work service. The social media giant had released this Facebook at Work service back in January for some origination as a beta version. Though this service for the companies is in beta phase, almost 300 companies use it on the daily basis.

Currently this Work Chat feature is available for some selected companies on Android. The company has not reveled when this feature is going to debut on iOS platform, but According to TechCrunch the iOS version of this Work Chat service is in works. This report also suggests that the social media company is planning for a wider release for this service on “freemium” basis.
