Asus to announce its ZenFone 5 Series on Feb. 27 at MWC 2018


Many big Smartphone giants are gearing up with their new future smartphones to unveil at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2018 at Barcelona. We have seen enough of leaks and press invites from various smartphone manufacturers with their new smartphones. Today, Asus has announced that they are also introducing the new Asus ZenFone 5 smartphones line-up.

The Taiwanese giant, Asus has released an invite for MWC conference which is set on February 27. According to official invitations, we could clearly see that the company is going to announce its new Asus ZenFone 5 smartphones. The official invite features a hashtag #BACKTO5 which clearly hints that the company is going to introduce their new ZenFone 5 series at Mobile World Congress 2018.

Asus is doing really great in the market with its new Asus ZenFone 4 Series smartphones. The series has got a variety of smartphones with different price tags. The devices are available in various markets around the world. If you are a big fan of Asus and looking for a new Asus smartphone to purchase, just wait for a couple of more weeks as the company is going to introduce the new Asus ZenFone 5 series smartphones on February 27.

Furthermore, the main event of Asus will take place at 7:30pm CET on February 27. Interestingly, the company is going to live stream the entire event or we can say conference as well. You would be able to see the whole event live through company’s official website.

If we go back and talk about company’s previous announcements, back in last year in August month, Asus introduced six different types of smartphones under the Asus ZenFone 4 series. With the new Asus ZenFone 5 series, we can expect the same series of devices from the company. So there will be more than one ZenFone 5 smartphones in the market.

Furthermore, a few days ago, a suspicious Asus smartphone was recently spotted with model number ASUS_X00QD. The device received Wi-Fi certification from Wi-Fi Alliance. The Certification reveals a few specifications of this phone. The device features a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi support. The certification also reveals that the smartphone runs on a latest, Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

Moreover on this suspicious device, it is said to be the Asus ZenFone 5 Max smartphone, a successor of last year’s Asus ZenFone 4 Max smartphone. This could be one of the variants of the Asus ZenFone 5 smartphone series.

Apart from this, some other sources also claim that the company is also working on a smartphone called Asus ZenFone 5 Lite. The same device has got the certification in Russia. The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite to feature a screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC.

According to all the rumors till date, the company might introduce, Asus ZenFone 5, Asus ZenFone 5 Max and Asus ZenFone 5 Lite, as these three smartphones somehow leaked in different countries and on various certification sites. We are yet to see a couple of more devices under the Asus ZenFone 5 series just like the previous, ZenFone 4 series smartphones.

Furthermore, the invitation poster of Asus also features Qualcomm Snapdragon. So the entire ZenFone 5 series would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs.

The CEO Jerry Chen, GM of Mobile Business Division Bryan Chang and Marcel Campos, Global Marketing Head of System Business Group will be present over there during the announcements of the new Asus ZenFone 5 Series.

Apart from this, Asus is now upgrading their older smartphones with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Recently, the company has released Android 8.0 Oreo update for Asus ZenFone 3 smartphone. The company also sends regular updates of its own ZenUI 4.0 for the older devices to test out the new UI with new set of features.

If we talk about the other giants, South Korean giant is going to unveil its much awaited, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones. Xiaomi is not launching any major devices, however we could expect the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S smartphone from the Chinese giant. Apart from this, Sony is also going to unveil the new Sony Xperia XZ Pro smartphone. HMD Global has also confirmed to come up with an Awesome Product during the event. LG Electronics may showcase an upgraded edition of LG V30 smartphone. So there will be a bucket full of new smartphones from various giants around the world at Mobile World Congress.
