Apple unveils iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, features & specs

The wait is over and Apple has officially announced the much awaited, iPhones for this year. Today, at an event, the giant has unveiled iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X members to the iPhone’s family. It was iPhone’s 10th Anniversary and the giant has decided to launch a special edition of this iPhone and hence they have come up with the all new, iPhone X. Everything you need to know about these phones are listed down below. 



To recall the rumors, people had expected that Apple will unveil a new iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus in the market if they follow their tradition. But, the giant has decided something different and they have launched the all new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus along with the special edition, iPhone X in the market. We don’t have any clue whether there will be any iPhone 7S or iPhone 7S Plus in the market. iPhone X is a premium device which has a roman letter X which indicates the 10th Anniversary of this phone.

Software :

Every time Apple launches a new iPhone they launch it with a new software or we can say a new OS version. Just like its own tradition, Apple has launched this new phones with a new built in Operating System, i.e. iOS 11. All these three models of iPhone i.e. iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8X would be running on a latest iOS 11 Operating System.



The new iOS brings a whole new User Interface with improvements to its useful applications such as maps, SIRI and control panel to control the functionality of the device. Apart from this, App Store is also getting a new looks with an improved UI to explore more. The new CarPlay application with advanced AR also introduced during this conference. The new iOS 11 will also be available for older iPhone devices from the coming September 19th.

Hardware :

Hardware is the primary thing which almost everyone who buys a new phone to check out first. Well, these new iPhone devices are studded with an advanced hardware configuration to explore the technology world well in hands. iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus carry pretty much the same specs while the iPhone X has got a whole lot different specs. So we have separated the specs for both these devices.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Hardware Specifications

Apple’s new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by a new chipset, A11 Bionic with Neural engine. The new Chipset is embedded M11 motion coprocessor on board. This new chip offers faster user interface than the original A10 chipset of the previous iPhone editions. The GPU is also more faster than the A10 Chipset.

The company has not revealed anything about the RAM of these phones. However, the new iPhone 8 would feature a 2 GB RAM and the iPhone 8 Plus would feature a 3 GB RAM. The two devices will be available in 64GB and 256GB of memory storage options. There will be a new 32GB model also available but the company has denied on this.

If we talk about the security, the devices have Touch ID feature as biometric security option. You can unlock your device and can play with AirPlay through your Fingerprint with this option. Battery life of these devices are the same as the previous iPhone. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus offers Wireless Charging to charge the device without wire. It has also fast charging option to recharge the device super faster. There is no 3.5mm Audiojack available on the device, however the box packs with a 3.5mm adapter.

iPhone X Hardware Specifications

The new special edition iPhone X also features the same A11 Bionic Chipset just like the previous devices. The phone is expected to be powered by 3GB RAM, however there is no any official information regarding the RAM of this device yet.

iPhone X would be available with two different storage options, 64GB and 256GB of Memory storage options. This premium device of iPhone, iPhone X features a new Face ID feature along with the Touch ID feature. Which differs it from the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones. Additionally, the iPhone X offers more battery life.

The FaceID feature is quite powerful and helps you to do a variety of tasks like unlocking your phone, to pay with Apple Pay application. The feature recognizing your face even if you have make over your entire face.

Just like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones, the iPhone X also has Wireless Charging option. It also support Qi chargers to recharge the device super faster.

Display :

All these newly announced iPhone devices have different display sizes with unique features.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Display 

The new iPhone 8 sports a 4.7 Inch LED-backlit Retina HD display with 1334 x 750 pixels of screen resolution. Pixel density of 326ppi with 16:9 aspect ratio.

iPhone 8 Plus sports a 5.5-inch LED-backlit Retina HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels of screen resolution. Pixel density of 401ppi with 16:9 aspect ration.

Both, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus features a 3D Touch technology which is a sensitive press feature available on the display. The same feature can be found on HTC’s U11 smartphone. With the help of this feature, you can easily do various tasks just by pressing on the display at various points.

iPhone X display

iPhone X sports a 5.8-inch display super narrow display which makes the device look different from the other iPhones. The display is made of OLED which is also known as Retina display. The front panel has edge-to-edge and corner-to-corner, just like the new Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone giving the full vision display without any buttons. Front display has just a small circle for the front facing camera and the sensors.

iPhone X’s display offers 2436 x 1125 pixels of screen resolution with 458ppi. Just like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone X has also 3D Touch feature to do various tasks just by pressing on the display. Apart from this, iPhone X has HDR Compatibility and Dolby vision support for rich entertainment out of your iPhone X smartphone.

Camera :

As you know, Apple brings a complete professional camera on its devices. Just like iPhone 7 Plus, this new generation iPhones also carry a DSLR like cameras to capture the perfect images and to record all types of videos with different qualities. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Camera 

The new iPhone 8 sports a 12 Megapixel of rear camera with image stabilization and digital zoom up to 5X. You can record full 4K resolution video and can can record 1080 pixels of slo-mo-video through this rear camera. The phone also sports a 7 Megapixel of front facing camera with Retina flash. The new iPhone 8 Plus sports a dual rear cameras at the back panel of the device. It has a combination of 12 Megapixel cameras at the back side. One of which is a wide-angle sensor, the other a telephoto sensor. It has image stabilization option with optical zoom and digital zoom up to 10X. It has color capture option with Live Photos and a Quad-LED True Tone flash with Slow Sync. iPhone X Camera

The new iPhone X has a vertical dual rear camera setup at the back panel. The phone has a 12 Megapixel sensors, one wide-angle and one telephoto. The iPhone X features the same camera features as the iPhone 8 Plus such as optical Zoom, Digital Zoom and Quad-LED True Tone flash and Portrait mode. The beta version of portrait lighting is also available on the camera. It has dual optical image stabilization feature which can be found on Samsung’s newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8 smartphone.

The phone can record full 4K videos with 1080 pixels of slo-mo video with image stabilization option. The front camera on the iPhone X is quite different from other two iPhones. It has a front facing camera with with a TrueDepth camera on board capable of facial recognition. The phone has 7 Megapixel of front facing camera which even allows you to create your own animated emojis which is called Animojis.

The front camera of the iPhone X also has portrait mode with portrait lighting in its beta version. These features are not available on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones.

Design :

If we talk about the design of these iPhones, all these phones looks similar you can find out only one difference on these three devices with their sizes. Let’s see some of the advance features which are packed in the design.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus design 

The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus carry kind of the same design like their predecessors, however the material which is used to design these phones are different. Both, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus has an aluminium frame. However, these devices has glass backs. The phones feature seven layer colour process which are available in different colors such as Silver, Space Grey and Gold.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus has IP67 certification which makes the device water and dust resistant. iPhone 8 features only one rear camera while the iPhone 8 Plus has a dual rear camera which are placed horizontally. The Apple logo is placed at the middle of the back side just like other iPhones. There is no any 3.5mm Audiojack available on the device. The Touch ID fingerprint scanner is placed underneath the display at the front panel.

iPhone X design

Since, iPhone X is a special edition phone, it offers premium looks in terms of its design compare to other iPhones. The iPhone X surgical grade stainless steel frame. Since, it is a bezzel less phone, it has rounded edges with glass back. It also supports Wireless technology to recharge the device wirelessly.

The iPhone X has a vertically arranged dual cameras at the top left corner. Between the dual sensors, it has a True Tone Quad-LED flash. The Apple Logo is placed at the same position just like other iPhone devices.

The front of this phone is quite different from the other iPhones. It has full vision display with full screen. There is no any buttons on the display to operate the phone just like the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphones. There is no any TouchID feature available on the front of the phone with the Physical button on this new iPhone X smartphone.

The front camera is equipped with FaceID feature which offers facial recognition. The powerful FaceID feature can help you recognize your face even if you have made changes to your face. You can unlock your phone or can pay through Apple Pay application through this FaceID feature. The volume rocker button placed at the left and the power button is at the right position.



Release Date & Pricing

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X Release Date and Pricing 

Apple has just unveiled these new three iPhones in the market. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be available to pre-order from 15 September, and will be available in the market from 22 September. The phones will be available physically through Apple’s official stores from the same date.

The iPhone X will be available for pre-orders from 27 October while the phone will be launched in the market from 3 November. You can purchase the iPhone X from the official Apple Store’s from the same date.

If we talk about the pricing, the iPhone 8 is priced at $699, iPhone 8 Plus is priced at $799 and the iPhone X is priced at $999.
