The much awaited, Android 8.0 Oreo update for OnePlus 5 is now available. The company has officially released an all new Android 8.0 update based on Oxygen 5.0. The update is rolling out as an incremental OTA update which should initially reach out to a few percentage of users. Soon, it will be available to the global market. 

Previously, the company has released two different beta updates for the OnePlus 5 smartphone. The company has officially confirmed this new update on their official forum page. As mentioned above, the update will cover a few percent of its users and soon it will reach out to wide number of users globally. So for the update to receive, you have to wait for a few more days.

The new Oreo update for OnePlus 5 smartphone brings a number of extraordinary features to your device. According to previous reports, OnePlus 5 also get the OnePlus 5 T’s Face Unlock feature. Apart from this, the new update will bring a lot of other Oreo powered features to your older OnePlus 5 smartphone.

As far as the new specifications are concerned, the new update brings updated launcher on the device. The new launcher will also bring optimisation option for the photos. You can easily upload the photos directly from the shots to your OnePlus 5 device through this launcher. The native camera app on the device also get a new UI update with a whole new design. The new camera app gets new filters with beauty effects and much more other features on the device. The camera also comes with Portrait Mode for the perfect photography.

Apart from this, the Gallery app on the phone gets one more section named with Places. This section will show you the photos in the map. Additionally, the Oxygen 5.0 update has a bunch of system upgrades with improvements to the existing UI of the phone.

Interestingly, the company has released this new Oxygen 5.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone with December Month’s Security patch. There are some other improvements to the native apps such as Calculator app gets a new history option, calendar app gets new design with new options to customise and more.

As promised, OnePlus 5 has released the stable Android 8.0 Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone. The company has claimed that they will release the official Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone in the early 2018, but they have already made it officially before the end of this year.
