Zuver, Mumbai based on-demand driver service startup has raised $180K (INR 1.2 Cr) from Shruth & Smith Holdings and Herms Group.

The startup was founded in 2015 by Sidhanth Mally and Sovin Hegde. It provides location specific drivers on demand of the users. The drivers can be booked via the app and they can be for specific times, outstation trips or on monthly basis.

Speaking on the development, Sovin Hegde pointed on the fact that on-demand driver segment is still unexplored in India. The startup is working to provide well trained and well behaved driver right on the doorstep of the customer and it can transform the way people commute in the time to come. The technology behind Zuver lets the team dispatch a driver within 40 minutes of the booking.

With the raised funds, the startup is looking to strengthen its presence in Mumbai by hiring more drivers. Currently, it serves Mumbai with 60 drivers on board and the company is looking to increase the driver count to 150 by the end of May. Also, with the plans of raising a Pre Series A round soon, Zuver is planning to expand to Pune and Bangalore.
