Yumist secures $2 Million in fresh funding led by Unilazer Ventures

Indian FoodTech startup, Yumist that offers daily meals service has secured $2 Million in Pre Series A round of funding led by Ronnie Screwvala’s fund Unilazer Ventures. The startup will use the fund to expand its businesses and hire more people. Its existing investors Orios Venture Partners and Valley based investor, Steven Lurie have also participated in this round of funding.

The startup will use the freshly raised fund to increase its services in the existing cities: Bengaluru, Gurgaon and Delhi till March 2016. After this, the FoodTech Company is planning to expand its services to other cities like Mumbai and Pune. The startup will also use part of the funding to hire some experience candidates for its data science, marketing, technology and finance teams.

Yumist is an internet first startup in daily meal sector, which was founded by Alok Jain and Abhimanyu Maheshwari in 2014. As of now, the startup has more almost 180 employees, who work as delivery and kitchen staff. Out of these 20 are headquarters staffs. It is also going to build a new Kitchen in NCR in next two and half months. Once completed, the kitchen will have capacity to serve 30,000 orders per day.
