Yahoo released its Yahoo News Digest app for Android. It is the product of the Yahoo’s Summly acquisition and it took form as an iOS back in this January and now it is debuted to the Android platform as a beautiful news reader with many sources. The Android app looks exactly like its counterpart iOS app. Everything is same as the iOS app, pixel to pixel which makes the app look very beautiful. This app comes with a very nice home screen widget, which helps you to browse the news feed at a glance.
Yahoo News Digest will provide the summary of all the important news and updates which you need to know. News digests are delivered two times a day once in the morning and then in the evening. All the top news are summarised and they were presented on the top of what is happening. Previously Yahoo News Digest was limited to only United States and United Kingdom and now it goes international with the international edition and another version focused on Canada. So, the users of US, UK and Canada will get the local editions and also the international edition. International edition is available for all the users around the world.
This News Digest app makes your reading very comprehensive, complete and effortless. This app work on the concept of Atoms. Each news story is created from the multiple source to present the important pieces and bits of information called Atoms. Atoms consists of images, videos, key quotes, Wikipedia excerpts, maps and infographs.
Yahoo did not revealed that how many are downloaded the app, but says that 40% of everyone who downloaded the app is still returning to it everyday and the company has also said that averagely a person spends two and half minutes inside the application. Yahoo don’t want them to spend that much time, so its goal is to make the user quickly to get in and get out.
