Xiaomi is working on a new and a fifth edition to the popular Xiaomi Redmi smartphone series with Xiaomi Redmi 5. This is the successor of the Redmi 4 phone which was launched last year by the Chinese company. Today, we have some official images of this unannounced phone from Xiaomi. A weibo user has shared a bunch of official images of this phone along with a list of its specifications.
As per the leaked images, the phone would be studded with all types of advanced features. The new Redmi 5 will be available in two independent variants which would be powered by Snapdragon 625 and Snapdragon 630 with 3GB and 4GB of RAM respectively. Xiaomi has decreased the battery capacity from 4100mAh to 3680mAh.
Furthermore, the Redmi 5 will feature a 5-inch full-HD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The phone will offer 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of variants. Users will have an option to expand the memory storage of the phone upto 128GB. It would also support dual SIMs. The phone runs on MIUI 9.0 based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box.
Additionally, the phone would sport a 16 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front facing camera of 5 Megapixel for selfies and video calls. The battery supports Quick Charge 3 technology to recharge the device quickly. 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and other useful connectivity options are very well available in this device. The phone would also offer a Fingerprint Scanner on the device at the back panel.
