Xiaomi Redmi 1S Vs Motorola Moto E – Comparison

Xiaomi is one of the latest hot topics in the mobile world for now. Since the launch of Xiaomi in India, the brand has got a lot of fan following and craze for the devices.

Xiaomi is well-known for making high performing devices in comparatively lower prices, and Motorola has also earned that status with the launch of Motorola Moto G and Motorola Moto E.

Moto E and Redmi 1S are perfect competitors for each other considering the price range. Motorola has already proved itself in the performance part, however, Xiaomi is still one of the new players outside China. So the battle will be interesting between these 2 phones.

In this post, I am going to compare these 2 devices to clear doubts from the minds of people who are considering to buy a budget phone.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S Vs Motorola Moto E – Comparison

Specs wise, both the device includes almost same hardware, the only difference is the brand and trust along with few minor difference which you will see below in the specs war. Moto E goes popular due to its elder brother the Moto E, however, RedMi has also the same case, people still waiting to get the Mi3 . Let’s see who wins in the best budget smartphone war.

The Moto E is a dual SIM smartphone running latest KitKat version 4.4, which includes a 4.3-inch 540×960 pixel display along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield for scratch protection. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset, dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. An Adreno 302 graphics processor is also included for better graphics control and 1GB of RAM to maintain the performance of the smartphone. The Moto E also features 4GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. The phone has a 5MP rear camera but unfortunately there isn’t packed any flash for low light shooting, and also does not provide a front-facing camera for video chats and selfies. Connectivity features are really remarkable, include 3G, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and GLONASS. Finally, the Moto E is fueled by a decent 1980 mAh non-removable battery which is enough to run Android KitKat OS throughout a day. The Moto E weighs 142 g and is 12.3mm thick.

Moto E

The Redmi 1S is a dual SIM smartphone featuring a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and protected by an AGC Dragontrail scratch-resistant glass(Moto E has smaller display). The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with four processors clocked at 1.6 GHz which is greater than Moto E(1 Ghz) and teamed with an Adreno 305 graphics processor and 1 GB of RAM. The internal storage provided is 8GB, expandable to 64GB via a micro SD card(Moto E- 32 GB only). The rear shooter is an 8MP with a single LED flash, while a front-facing 1.6MP camera is also provided. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and GLONASS. Lastly, the phone is fueled by a 2050 mAh battery (better than Moto E)and runs on a custom Android flavour of Jelly Bean v4.3 operating system, MIUI V5(Moto E runs native KitKat 4.4 OS). The Redmi 1S weighs 158g and is 9.9mm thick.

The Redmi 1S has a tough and sturdy body compared to the very popular Moto E with an equally smart-looking exterior to Mi3. We have already seen the specs and hardware war of both the devices. A look back reveals a larger display with a HD resolution, a better camera at 8 MP with LED flash and a customizable operating system and user interface.

Both the devices offer more than enough of value for money, but the Redmi 1S finally has won the race according to us, offering a tad better specs compared to the Moto E. Also packing these specs doesn’t mean the device is good, we all are waiting to get the device on hand for hands-on comparison between these two device that will only device the winner. In this segment, the Rs 1,000 price difference is also likely to play a big part when deciding what phone to buy.
