Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 takes Cortana Outside US

The operating system giant Microsoft is planing to launch the first update for the Windows Phone 8.1 users. The Microsoft will soon be rolling out the next release of Windows Phone, which might have a titled Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, and this update bring with several new features.



This Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 takes Cortana Outside US. According to report, after this update the Cortana will available in  the beta form UK and China. In China it will occur in different style, it means in China it will have a nickname -‘ Xiao Na‘ and it will appear alternative form with different visual appearance, animations, and sounds. It will support Mandarin in voice, text, and speech. And this Microsoft’s voice assistant, will also be available in other markets such as Canada, India, and Australia in alpha form.

In the UK, the Cortana will have a different voice than in the UK as we reported before, with British pronunciation and spelling. The Bing will also provide the local information on sports teams, the London Stock Exchange, commuter conditions



The Update 1 will have other features as well, such as folder support  which comes on the Start screen, the update also offered the performance improvements to some apps such as Xbox Music app, live tile for the Store app and show app suggestions, ability to mark multiple text messages for deletion or forwarding. As well as the Apps Corner is helping to select the handful of apps and limit the device to only those apps or to make the device boot straight into a particular app, which can very much useful for the business purpose.



The Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 developer preview will available from next week and then it will available in a couple of months for the normal Windows Phone 8.1 users.
