The tech pundits who termed WhatsApp as one of the fastest growing platforms have another reason to support their views. The Facebook owned mobile application has gained over 100 million active monthly users in last 5 months since Facebook acquired it in a deal which left many of us stunned.
Whatsapp, an instant messaging smartphone app now has over 700 million active monthly users compared to the 600 million it had the time Facebook bought it for 19 million USD.
The news was shared to the public by the Whatsapp founder, in a statement, he said
“Today, we’re thrilled to share that WhatsApp has more than 700 million monthly active users. Additionally, every day our users now send over 30 billion messages. As humbled and excited as we are by these numbers and our continued growth, we’re even more excited to keep building a great product in 2015,” he revealed in a succinct post on Facebook.
Recent time has been pretty good for Whatsapp on many grounds, the company has reportedly been working on the much awaited voice calling feature which might put the app in line with many popular mobile apps like Line and Viber, at the same time, there were rumors that the company is working on to build a desktop client as well.
