As per Chinese tech analyst, Pan Jiutang, the most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset might be incorporated in Oppo Find 9, Vivo Xplay 5 or Xiaomi Mi5. Of the trio, the Vivo offering has the highest possibility of being the first one to use this chipset and this is stated considering the launch cycle of the handsets.
The Vivo Xplay 5 could premiere the potential 64 bit Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm’s stable either by December 2014 or by January 2015, whereas the launch of the other two smartphones could be only in the next year.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC is an enticing addition to the chipmaker’s portfolio. Similar to its smaller sibling, the Snapdragon 808, this one makes use of ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture and supports quad-core Cortex A57 and quad-core Cortex A53 processors respectively. These quad-core chipsets switch between themselves depending on the given task thereby providing a good balance between efficiency and power.
The interesting aspect of the Snapdragon 810 chipset is that Qualcomm has believed on the efficiency and performance of the cores rather than the number of cores used in the chipset making it a capable offering.
