Venture Catalysts raises $500k from Zaffiro Ventures

The News Minute Raises unspecified sum in Angel round of funding

Venture Catalysts, Mumbai based seed investment platform has raised $500k from Zaffiro Ventures at a post money valuation of $6 million.

Speaking on the development, Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, Co-Founder Venture Catalysts, stated that the raised funding will help the firm to expand its presence beyond the Metropolitan and tier 1 cities across the country as well as to promote entrepreneurship. He further added that the firm will now work with other companies to gather insights about startups seeking seed investment. The funding will also be used to explore more investment options including supporting women entrepreneurs.

Venture Catalysts has been on an expansion spree over the last few quarters. It recently launched its operations in Surat and plans to cover 5 more cities this year. Working with a plan of setting up proper end to end ecosystem for startups, it’s targeting tier 2 and tier 3 cities across the country.

The partnership with Zaffiro will also be leveraged to build a robust network of HNIs who will provide their services as mentors and investors. It has already added over 600 angel investors on the platform and looking to add more of them in the coming months. The startups are incubated at its own incubation center and then connected to potential mentors and investors.

Founded by Anil Jain, Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, Anuj Golecha and Gaurav Jain, Venture Catalysts provides end to end solutions to startups including incubation, coworking space, Angel investments and after investment support. It generally invests in the range of $100k to $250k.

Since its launch, Venture Catalysts has invested in 7 startups taking its total investment to around $3 million. Some of the notable names in the list include CoutLoot, vPhrase and SIFTR labs.
