VegFru, Indian online B2B marketplace for vegetables and fruits has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Wingify, online testing startup for website performance.
VegFru was founded in 2009, it connects producers, wholesalers and retailers for a long term partnership, thus, eliminating any kind of middlemen. The startup is aiming to create a virtual world where anyone can trade for anything related to fruits and vegetables on a global scenario without worrying about geographical, cultural and logistics constrains. The raised funding will be used to expand into more demographics along with increasing the product portfolio.
Currently, it boasts of having over 5000 suppliers and customers with over 60 orders per week. The customer portfolio includes notable names like Microsoft, GE, Mitsubishi, Lenovo, Dominoes. It is considering partnership with a few hyper-local startups to expand the reach.
