TrucksFirst coordinates delivery trucks transit between different cities, by using latest technology and innovative operational processes. The company aims to improve the truck driver ecosystem and operation efficiency.
Gurgaon based TrucksFirst was founded in 2014 by Deepak Garg and Gazal Kalra. Deepak Garg graduated in Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2003. Further he did his Master of Business Administration in Finance, Economics and Strategy from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow in 2006.
Deepak started his career as software developer in Geometric Ltd in 2003. He worked with the company for 14 months and moved to McKinsey & Company as consultant in 2006. After long stint of 8.3 years he moved out of the company in August 2014 to found TrucksFirst.
Gazal Kalra is co founder of TrucksFirst. One of the brightest and highly qualified woman in entrepreneurial scene. Gazal has graduated in Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2007. She has graduated in Masters in Public Administration in Business & Governments, Innovation policies, political economy and impact investing from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She has also done Masters in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Studies, Managing growing enterprises and Design Thinking from Stanford School Graduate School of Business in 2014.
Gazal has been awarded with Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Fellowship sponsored by Reliance Industries Group and Fulbright Nehru Masters in Leadership from Fulbright. Gazal started her career as business analyst in McKinsey and Company in 2007. She worked with the company for 2 years till 2009 and became Executive Assistant to President, Public Health Foundation of India. She had brief stint of 6 months. In 2009, Gazal became Parliamentary Associate, where she assisted Member of Parliament. She worked till July 2011 and moved as Consultant CGAP/World Bank Group.
TrucksFirst raised Series A funding of $10 million from SAIF Partners on May 14, 2015. Along with SAIF Partners few other investors like Singapore First and Thomas Netzer, director of McKinsey travel, transport and logistics. The funding will be used for strengthening technology, backend and hiring.
Nowadays logistics sector is witnessing lot of actions, Delhivery has raised funds from Tiger Global while LogiNext Solutions raised undisclosed seed funding from angel investors.
