TouchKin, Proactive Healthcare startup raises $400K

TouchKin, Indian proactive healthcare startup based in Bangalore has raised $400K in seed round from a bunch of investors including Alok Mittal (ex-Canaan Partners), Amit Gupta (InMobi), Anuj Srivastava (Livspace), Himanshu Aggarwal (Aspiring Minds), Raghunandan G (TaxiForSure) and Puneet Agarwal (Moneyview).

TouchKin is a predictive mobile app which takes the input from mobile based social sensing and enables proactive personalized care.

The startup was founded by Jo Agarwal and Ramakant Vempati in 2015. The founders believe in the fact that over 2 Billion smartphones across the globe are taking an active part in the lives of people and if the attachment to the smartphones can be used in better ways to identify potential health issues by tracking the changes in mobility, communication or activity of an individual, it can be way more valuable.

Working on the same concept, TouchKin learns from the behavioral changes from one’s activity¬†which might result in physical or mental illness going forward. The app then connects the user to the direct support system. Along with that, the app provides alerts to the users against any chronic or age related diseases for early identification of any disease which might occur. StayClose, the mobile app from TouchKin can be used to track the activity of family members and to take early actions if something irregular is found.

According to Jo Agarwal, Co-Founder TouchKin, “The mobile healthcare industry is going to be huge in the time to come and we are working as early adopters with the technology needed to become a pioneer. Unlike other apps, TouchKin’s technology doesn’t recommend any behavioral change”.

TouchKin already has around 3000 users in the pilot phase and it has tracked down over a million sensing events.
