Tinggal, Indonesian Budget Hotel Startup raises $1 Million

By | March 1, 2016

South East Asian startup stories are full of startups working on budget hotel stays. There are quite a few big players already out there, however, it seems that there is still a lot of scope for the new startups. The newly launched Tinggal just proves the same.

In less than a month of its launch, Tinggal has raised $1 Million from Mangrove Capital, Simile Venture Partners, Vikas Saxena (CEO Nimbuzz) and Prafulla Mathur (CEO WudStay).

The startup is looking to fulfill the gap often found around the budget stay segment. Sudden explosion of the budget stay segment has somehow compromised on the quality and that is one of the biggest concerns of the guests using budget stay service. However, Tinggal plans to overcome that by providing the same facilities mentioned at the time of booking. It also provides free breakfast and WiFi on almost all the hotel bookings.

The normal booking costs around $17, however, there is an elite option too, with superior facilities and better comfort, starting at $6o per night.

Right now, the startup has around 35 properties on the network, however, it plans to expand to all the major cities in Indonesia by the end of this year.
