Tilt, formerly known as Crowdtilt is a social app which lets the users raise money for a charity or social event. Founded in 2013, Tilt has been pretty good in US and they recently expanded to Canada getting a better response in the country.
This comes as the second funding round after the San Francisco based startup raised $23 million way back in 2013. The new investment will be used to fuel the operations and the expand opportunities in other countries including the European region. Tilt plans to hire at least 1000 college ambassadors by the end of next month i.e. August 2015.
The social money-raising app, which allows the users to create campaigns and ask the friends, family and other surrounding people to contribute the funds required. However, the users do not need to pay anything literally until the commitment from users reaches to a certain point, allowing the contributors to be confident about their money getting used in an affair which is surely backed by a few more investors.
The app has had soft launches in a few countries apart from United States, Canada & United Kingdom. However, the team is pretty excited about going and exploring a lot more markets and that is where they plan to use the funds.
The raised funds will be used in revamping the app along with hiring some manpower in various regions outside of the demographics where Tilt is operating currently.
