Tiens Group from China is all set to enter the Indian eCommerce Market with the launch of its online marketplace by the second half of this year. The portal will be selling over 3000 products sourced from various countries to compete against the mainstream eCommerce giants in the country including Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal etc.
Tiens Group is trying to work in two segments simultaneously. Along with the online marketplace model, it is trying its hands on the direct selling model to compete with the likes of Amway and Oriflame. The company had recently inaugurated it’s south Asian headquarters in New Delhi to capture the market better.
Speaking on the development, Kevin Hou, South Asia head of Tiens Group stated that the company has over 2 Million users in India and it plans to grow that userbase to over 10 million in next 5 years.
Founded in 1995 by Li Jinyuan, Tiens Group has its presence in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and China. It focuses in fields like biotech, education, retail, finance, tourism and e-business.
Indian eCommerce market has shown a lot of competition in the recent years. After Amazon made its successful entry in the country, Alibaba stated that it was particular about getting into the Indian market and another internet giant, Rakuten showed its intentions of entering India.
