One of the biggest acquisitions in Indian cab aggregator market, is finally seeing some action. In a blog post which went live on TaxiForSure website, the company claims that they are shutting down operations in 22 Indian cities and moving to Ola.
The list of 22 websites is live on the website and most of the cities include the smaller cities like Ambala, Bhavnagar, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Hubli-Dharwad, Jabalpur, Jamnagar, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Sholapur, Tiruchirappalli, Trivandrum, Ujjain, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. However, there is no change in the way TaxiForSure is working in metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.
Ola has taken over in Tier II and Tier III cities as of now and the tactic is pretty clear to acquire more customers. The fare has been decreased as compared to what users pay on Uber. Users in Hyderabad and Bangalore get to pay Rs 6/KM, in Delhi and Pune the rate is Rs 7/km and in Mumbai the rate per km is Rs 8.
