Swatch’s mobile payment watch to start selling in US from early next year

Swiss watch maker, Swatch has announced that its mobile payment watch called “Swatch Bellamy watch” will be available in United States, Brazil and Switzerland next year. The company has partnered with Visa Inc. for launching the mobile payment service enabled watch in these three countries.

The new Swatch Watch will allow Visa card holders to make payments for their purchase through their wrist with its new service named “pay-by-the-wrist”. The Swiss watch maker will also launch this product to some other countries later. The Swatch Bellamy Watch works in similar fashion as the contactless bank cards. Users can use Swatch Bellamy Watch for paying at any counter that accepts NFC Visa payment.

Nick Hayek, the CEO of Swatch had criticized his home country’s banks for being slow to accept this new mobile payment service. The Apple Watch has led Swiss watch maker to make such kind of watch. Recently, TAG Heuer has also entered the smartwatch business. Various high-end watch makers are also trying their hands in the smartwatch business.

Swatch Bellamy Watch that offers pay-by-wrist payment service will debut in United States in early 2016. The interested users can buy this NFC enabled watch from all the stores that sells this kind of products.
