SourceN acqui hired by HolidayIQ.com, a travel information and review portal run by Bengaluru based Leisure and Lifestyle Information Services P Ltd. SourceN India P Ltd is into travel mobile development and offers strategic consulting, creative design and technical implementation services across mobile, social media and web.
SourceN was founded by Deepak Ramachandran and Ajay Ramachandran in 2004. The company is based in Bengaluru. The company has worked with well known brand names such Apple, Intel, HP-Palm, MTV, SAP, Box.net and many others. SourceN is focused on co innovation and creation of new ventures, strategic consulting, creative design and technology development.
With this acquisition core focus of HolidayIQ will be on mobile offerings and enhance its position in the online travel segment in India. “Mobile continues to be the core focus at HolidayIQ and this acquisition is a step in that direction. The SourceN team’s understanding of mobile consumer behaviour in travel will strengthen our holiday’s product and create a robust engine enabling easier sharing of travel reviews, ratings, images and video on mobile. HolidayIQ.com was founded in 2004, which was earlier christened as India Resorts Survey. The company focused on creating India’s first travel community and encouraged community participation such as feedback on holiday accommodation across India. The company saw success in the effort prompted to widen the scope of the community.
Bengaluru based HolidayIQ.com was founded by Hari Nair. He is Chief Executive Officer of the company. Hari graduated in Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from Delhi University in 1985. He went on to become Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1988.
He started his career as consultant in Tata Consultancy Services in 1989. Hari involved in software development in ERP and Database domain. He worked with TCS for a year and in 1990 he joined as Consultant in PwC. He had various assignments for Indian and Global companies based in India.
In 1992 Hari joined Ernst & Young Consulting as Senior Consultant. He briefly worked with them for 7 months and became Executive Director of Feedback Ventures in 1992. He held various roles in highly entrepreneurial start up company. After working for 4 years and 5 months, he joined as Executive Director and Partner of KPMG India. He was with KPMG till Nov 2002, after tenure of almost of 6 years.
HolidayIQ.com has repository of 50,000 hotels, 2,000 destinations, 60,000 attractions and 50 lakh travellers who have used the services of the company. The company has a team of 200 people on their roles. The company has classified traveller types such as critic, flashpacker, highlander, heritage seeker, cityslicker, voyager, beachbum, group tripper, luxury, avid tripper, soulseeker, loneranger, adventurer, forester, desert ranger, shutterbug, jetsetter and discoverer.
