The IFA 2014 is round the corner and we do expect to witness the launch of several devices at the tech show. A major manufacturer that is expected to launch a slew of devices is Sony and the firm has already scheduled to hold an event on September 4. So long, Sony was rumored to launch its flagship device Xperia Z3 along with the Xperia Z3 Compact, but now more devices are adding on to the list.
According to the latest image leak, Sony is prepping on two wearable devices – SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk respectively. The SmartWatch 3 is likely the third generation smartwatch that could an upgraded variant as compared to its predecessors. It should be based on Android Wear platform as its competitors and is tipped to feature a 1.68 inch display with 320×320 pixel resolution. The smartwatch is claimed to be IP58 certified for water resistance. Though none other than these details are known, it is claimed to resemble the design of Samsung Gear 2 Neo.
Next in the line is the SmartBand Talk that is speculated to be the successor of the health centric SmartBand (SWR10) that went official earlier this year. This fitness tracker is likely to feature Bluetooth connectivity and a curved e-ink display. At this point of time, nothing is known about the wearable device, it is expected to feature some impressive features such as displaying phone notifications.
Moreover, Sony has taken to its official Twitter account teasing “We’ll be getting deep at the IFA 2014. But how deep..?” The teaser image shows an underwater snap with the wordings ‘2m?’ The existing Sony devices can survive underwater for up 1.5m tipping that there would be tougher water resistant aspects in the upcoming models.
