The selfie craze among the smartphone users to on the rise and it is growing with the increased use of social networking and messaging apps. With the increase in this trend, the manufacturers are coming up with selfie focused features to push the obsession further. By saying selfie focused features, we mean the incorporation of high resolution front facers, front LED and a slew of software features such as groufies.
It appears like the latest manufacturer to jump to the bandwagon of making a selfie focused phone is Sony and the vendor will be launching a new selfie centric device tomorrow in Taiwan. It is alleged that this phone could be the successor to the Xperia C that was unveiled in last year.
Sony has taken it on micro-blogging site Twitter confirming that it will be launching a selfie focused smartphone on July 8. The tweet reads, “See your #selfies in a whole new light.”
A user on Esato forum has revealed two images of the handset that is supposed to arrive with front-facing flash. The images do show a 2,500 mAh battery and an alleged 5 inch screen size. These aspects hint at a mid-ranger, thereby adhering to the launch of Xperia C sequel.
A few weeks back, Taiwanese website ePrice came up a couple of hands-on images of the device claiming that it would be dubbed Xperia C. It was also alleged that the handset will be made available globally and include a front-facing LED flash, wide angle lens, voice and gesture activated shutter and a self timer for clicking great selfies.
