Sony has changed the name of its Virtual Reality headset Project Morpheus. At the Game Show press conference at Tokyo, Sony announced that the new name of its Virtual Reality headset is PlayStation VR. Sony has made easier for us to remember, because Project Morpheus was a hard name to keep track of.

The Japanese Company has said that there is going to be lots of games that use the VR headset and you can try them on the show floor. Sony’s PlayStation VR is going to compete with lots of other VR headset available in the market. Some of the VR headsets include HTC Vive developed in association with Valve and Oculus Rift from Facebook.

Masayasu Ito, PlayStation product business president said, “The name ‘PlayStation VR’ not only directly expresses an entirely new experience from PlayStation that allows players to feel as if they are physically inside the virtual world of a game, but it also reflects our hopes that we want our users to feel a sense of familiarity as they enjoy this amazing experience.”

Sony has not announced the date for the launch of this “PlayStation VR” headset, however, earlier it has said that it may be out in 2016.
