Snapdeal acquires Reduce Data, an advertising platform, for amount unknown

Snapdeal, one of India’s largest online retailer has now acquired Reduce Data, a Silicon Valley-based startup that runs a programmatic display advertising platform. The financial terms of the remain undisclosed.

Founded in 2012 by Asif Ali, Reduce Data focuses on power brands to deliver advertising strategies for consumers across platforms and devices. The platform is proprietary and its takes control of artificial intelligence, real-time data and other tools that returns high investment rate for advertising campaigns. The engineering team has clients across US, UK and India.



Regarding the acquisition, Rohit Bansal, co-founder of Snapdeal said, “At Snapdeal, we are always on the lookout for talented people who come with specialized skills that augment our capabilities. Asif comes with 17 years of rich experience in building web scale technologies, Product Management and building highly specialized teams focused on data platform and ad tech products. We are confident that Asif and his team will further strengthen our technological capabilities.”

Further to the acquisition, the engineering team of Reduce Data including Ali would join Snapdeal as part of the agreement. With the acquisition deal, the company aims to build a ‘world class discovery platform’ for more than 200,000 sellers on its marketplace..This is the twelfth acquisition by the company.
