Smartron India raises funds from Sachin Tendulkar

One of the greatest cricket players of all time, Sachin Tendulkar from India has made his first ever investment in a Startup. According to a report in Economic Times, Bangalore based Smartron India has raised an undisclosed amount from the cricket legend.

While talking on this development, Sachin Tendulkar showed his fascination about technology and said that he has always followed the next gen technology. He further added that Smartron is trying to build a robust product ecosystem in the country and we should support the brands built by Indian entrepreneurs and engineers to make India shine on the global platform.

Smartron was founded by Mahesh Lingareddy. Mahesh is also a Co-Founder and CEO of a US based Semiconductor company, Soft Machines Inc. The startup plans to launch a number of smart devices and IoT solutions to enterprises and consumer markets by the mid of this year. It has set the focus right now on areas like smart-devices, sensors, robotics, big data, artificial intelligence. Smartron is looking to leverage the power of IoT to build world class products and disrupt the market in the time to come.
