Smartivity, Indian EdTech Startup raises $1 Million


Smartivity, Delhi based edtech startup has closed in pre series A round of funding in a round led by S Chand Group and AdvantEdge Group, early-stage investment firm. Other investors including CFG Offshore Holdings (Singapore based fund) and Tandem Capital (Silicon Valley based fund) also participated in the round along with a handful of angel investors.

The startup was founded in 2015 and it offers do-it-yourself kits to the students of 6 years and more. With the augmented reality based platform, the solutions are provided in form of an application available on Android and iOS. The major aim is to enhance the creative, analytical and practical knowledge and skills of the user.

Ashwini Kumar, CoFounder Smartivity stated that with the raised amount, the startup plans to increase the current portfolio of products to provide better solutions to the kids and also develop IoT enabled toys and robots to make learning more interactive for the students.

Smartivity currently offers services in two segments. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) with do-it-yourself kits for the students to make it more interesting and interactive for them to understand any topic and Smartivity Edge to provide more learning activities.
