Silvan raises $900K from Infuse Ventures


Silvan, Bangalore based provider of home automation solutions has raised $900K (INR 6 crores) from Infuse Ventures, venture firm focused on clean technology. The raised funding will be used to get more products in the portfolio and market the brand to create a buzz around.

The startup was started as a solution provider to the property developers, however, on Wednesday, it launched a number of consumer centric products such as WiFi enabled doorbell with video support, light automation and music zoning system amongst others. All the prices were launched in a rage between INR 10,000 – INR 20,000.

Silvan had raised INR 350 Million from Chennai Angels in January this year. Among the partnered developers, the startup counts some of the prominent names such as Prestige, Brigade, Tata Housing, Lodha and it claims to be automating over 2000 homes already with over 40 projects in pipeline.

Speaking on the development, Avinash Gautam, CEO Silvan stated that the world is changing and the fast penetration of technology has made people talking about the smart solutions and the home segment is not too far behind. He further added that there is a need of smart home solutions for increased safety and security.

The launched products will be available for purchase from Silvan’s site and other retail stores in the coming time. The startup plans to have over 5000 retail outlets selling their products. It will train the people at the outlets to help the potential customers with demo and then helping them to install the products in households. Post the launch of the latest products, the firm will now work in two segments, one of them will continue working on the enterprise side, while the other one will work for the consumer side.
