Shopwati, Indian online fashion community, has secured seed funding from Sanjiv Rai (SRKK Advisors). The financials of this deal have not been disclosed. The raised capital will be used to strengthen the technology along with expanding to more cities outside the NCR region. Also, the android app will be out soon, said a company official.
Shopwati was founded in 2015 by Ankit Bajaj and Mehak Suri. It is an online community of over 55,000 members including various designers, bloggers, brands, stylists and users. The community helps the users to take decision on their fashion choices with the help of the community members. The advice can be obtained by asking questions to the community, creating a poll or taking expert advice from the well renowned people.
The platform not only advises the users with the fashion tips, but also it helps them find the best fit for them with the help of brands and vendors on the store. With the help of bloggers and users, they can even get the beast deal possible on the selected product, making it a great end to end solution for fashion related needs.
Speaking on the development, Ankit Bajaj, CoFounder and CEO Shopwati stated that the community’s biggest aim is to help users make better fashion choices. Shopwati goes much further and even helps the one who want to act on the advice received.
The portal boasts of having over 300 queries per day and over the last 6 months, it has crossed GMV of INR 1.5 Cr. Also it has claimed that the conversion rate is 35% out of all the queries received and with the help of community and users, 95% the queries are answered within 24 hours.
