How to Set Reminders using Cortana

By | July 7, 2014

Cortana is the most popular feature among Windows Phone 8.1 users, there are several commands and setting your can do without even touching the screen, using cortana you can set call anyone who is in your contact list, you can set reminder, alarm automatically. Apart from that cortana is able to many kind of things which are not possible to discuss here.

Unfortunately cortana is only limited to US users and might take time to reach other region within months. In today section I thought to write how to set reminders using Cortana on Windows Phone 8.1.

To get started, bring up Cortana by holding the search button for a few seconds. You can tell Cortana to remind you at certain times. Want to set a reminder at 5:30 A.M. tomorrow?, How about 2:33 P.M. on Tuesdays? or 9 P.M. every night? It is all up to you what you want to do with your Cortana. Here are some examples to Set Reminders using Cortana:

  • Remind me to take out recycling Thursday nights
  • Remind me to pick up Sheila from the airport on July 17th at 5 P.M.
  • Remind me to call the plumber tomorrow morning
  • Remind me to wash the car in 2 days at 7 P.M.
  • Remind me to throw the garbage every Monday night

That’s it, you have successfully set a reminder based on time, you can edit any reminder or confirm it is correct or not. Just say Yes or press remind button.

Now to check all your reminder, just tap top right corner and choose the option “remind me”. If you still using Windows Phone 8 and want to use Cortana then first follow this link to update your phone to Windows Phone 8.1 developer preview.
