How to scan documents directly to Google Drive

Step 1 : Select Google Drive on your Scanner

If you have decided to connect your Scanner with Google Drive, make sure you select Google Drive when you select the output or destination for the scanned files. Your Scanner will show you a web address for configuration process. You need to open your web browser and then the link provided by the Scanner. Once you add your Google account here, you will see a PIN code on the Scanner’s display. Just put this code into the web browser page of Google Drive. Once done, your connection will be established. Now, you have full control over your printer and scanner.

Step 3 : Make sure to protect your Account

In order to provide more security to your account, you can protect it with a PIN code. Once you have setup everything with the PIN code, every time you scan a particular file, you will be asked to enter PIN code to put the scanned files into the Google Drive. This is a great way to protect your Google Drive account from scanning unwanted files and documents which are not important or you don’t want them to be stored on the drive.



Step 4 : Setup Scanning Options

At last, you can always customize your Scanning options. Whenever you want to scan some files, you will be able to use and setup things properly on your Scanner. The Scanner’s Settings option will make you able to select a particular set of files of your choice. You can select the resolution of files, format of the scanned documents and input of the files. You can have all the controls to choose the right files to scan and to get as output at the destination folder.



For documents, it is always recommended to select PDF format as the output. For other simple images, you can set the output as png or any other format that suits it.

In order to connect other computer with the same account, you can repeat the same procedure and by entering the displayed PIN code, you can configure other printer or computer with the same Google Drive account.
